About the Ninjaboard65 PCB

Ninjaboard65 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Ninjadude01, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 312.5 × 127.5 mm, with 134 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RASPBERRY_PI_PICO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 67 switches, 66 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

The Ninjaboard65 is a 65% custom keyboard with a knob! Features include hot-swappable gateron yellow switches, pbt double-shot keycaps, and a 3d printed case + plate. It uses qmk firmware, which is fully customizable so you can assign each key to whatever function you want. I decided to build this project as I love hardware and am already familiar with the basics. I wanted a project that would challenge me, which is why I decided to make my own keyboard. Another reason why is because I love playing video games in my free time, so being able to create my very own input device means alot to me…

Ninjaboard65: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ninjaboard65 use?

The Ninjaboard65 is built around the RASPBERRY_PI_PICO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Ninjaboard65 PCB?

The Ninjaboard65 measures 312.5 × 127.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ninjaboard65?

134 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ninjaboard65 design files?

From the Ninjadude01/Ninjaboard65 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ninjaboard65 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Ninjadude01. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ninjaboard65 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
