Main repository for my custom 75% mechanical keyboard

This project is a mechanical keyboard that I want to be able to use daily! It can be used as a standard keyboard with a knob. It can also do anything you can dream of, as long as the firmware exists!

Fully created and designed by Lucas Escobar

I decided to create a mechanical keyboard because it seems like a somewhat beginner friendly project that still will challenge you. It also happens that I currently don't own any mechanical keyboards, so I wanted to make one! Electrical circuits and programming has always facinated me, but I never really knew how, or had the means to do it. After I…

MechanicalKeyboard75: common questions

What microcontroller does the MechanicalKeyboard75 use?

The MechanicalKeyboard75 is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the MechanicalKeyboard75 PCB?

The MechanicalKeyboard75 measures 290.5 × 161.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MechanicalKeyboard75?

169 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MechanicalKeyboard75 design files?

From the NotXander4211/MechanicalKeyboard75 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MechanicalKeyboard75 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with NotXander4211. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MechanicalKeyboard75 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
