About the Pinstripe PCB

Pinstripe is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by null-ll, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 323.9 × 123 mm, with 162 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega32A-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 77 LEDs, 69 diodes, 7 resistors, 5 capacitors, 1 IC and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Through-hole 60% keyboard with arrow keys, a rotary encoder, a SSD1306 OLED display, and a DS1307 I2C RTC module.

Through-hole 60% keyboard with arrow keys, a rotary encoder, a SSD1306 OLED display, and a DS1307 I2C RTC module.

OLED displays 24-hour time and bongo cat animation in default keymap.

For custom keymaps, add the keycode KC_SETTIME to a key (preferably not on the base layer).

Pinstripe: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pinstripe use?

The Pinstripe is built around the ATmega32A-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Pinstripe PCB?

The Pinstripe measures 323.9 × 123 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pinstripe?

162 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pinstripe design files?

From the null-ll/pinstripe repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pinstripe design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which null-ll chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pinstripe without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
