From the project

This monorepo centralizes Olin Electric Motorsports’ KiCad designs and STM32 firmware into a single place. It helps with immediate contribution through standardized environments and automated CAN signal tracking. This unified structure makes sure that there is architectural consistency across all vehicle electrical systems.

Welcome to the Olin Electric Motorsports monorepo. This is the home for all of our electrical, firmware, and software work.

This document will help you get started contributing and walk you through important steps for working on the team.

Bms core: common questions

What microcontroller does the Bms core use?

The Bms core is built around the STM32G441KBT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Bms core PCB?

The Bms core measures 109.8 × 25.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Bms core?

61 components, from 36 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Bms core design files?

From the olin-electric-motorsports/oem-monorepo repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Bms core design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which olin-electric-motorsports chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Bms core without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
