About the Task2 PCB

Task2 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Omkar1464, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board, with 50 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328P-MMHR, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the BF998, SHT4x, NEO-6M-GPS and MPSH10. By type, the board carries 23 resistors, 13 capacitors, 6 ICs, 2 inductors, 1 transistor and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the rf & radio, power & battery and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

This repository contains the embedded firmware, circuit schematics, simulation models, and validation benchmarks for the Long Range Telemetry Module (Phase-I) designed for high-altitude drone and UAV/CanSat payload communication.

This repository contains the embedded firmware, circuit schematics, simulation models, and validation benchmarks for the Long Range Telemetry Module (Phase-I) designed for high-altitude drone and UAV/CanSat payload communication.

Operating under the severe resource constraints of an 8-bit ATmega328P microcontroller (16 MHz clock, 2 KB SRAM), the system implements a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) / Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) baseband transmitter alongside a discrete 433 MHz RF front-end architecture.

Task2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Task2 use?

The Task2 is built around the ATMEGA328P-MMHR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Task2 PCB?

The Task2 has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Task2?

50 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Task2 design files?

From the Omkar1464/Telemetry-Module-using-CDMA-Modulation repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Task2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Omkar1464. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Task2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
