About the Audio-Devboard PCB
Audio-Devboard is an open source STM32 PCB design by Outdatedcandy92, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 56 × 37 mm, with 80 components from 27 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F042K6U6TR, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the VS1053B, LP5907MFX-3.3 and LP5907MFX-1.8. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 27 resistors, 6 switches, 6 diodes, 4 ICs and 3 connectors.
It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and audio designs in this gallery.
From the project
Compact VS1053B audio dev board paired with a STM32 MCU, MicroSD, audio out, and line in. Capable of decoding and play lossless audio formats like FLAC.
A compact development board based around the VS1053B audio codec paired with a STM32F042 microcontroller. The board features a MicroSD card slot, Stereo audio output, Line in, and a few GPIO pins.
The board was designed to play around with the VS1053B chip which can decode audio files such as MP3, FLAC, AAC and more. The board features three onboard LED indicators for the 3 separate power rails, and has 3 programmable LEDs, two of them connected to the STM32 GPIO and one to the VS1053B GPIO.

Audio-Devboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the Audio-Devboard use?
The Audio-Devboard is built around the STM32F042K6U6TR, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Audio-Devboard PCB?
The Audio-Devboard measures 56 × 37 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Audio-Devboard?
80 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Audio-Devboard design files?
From the Outdatedcandy92/Audio-Devboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Audio-Devboard design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which Outdatedcandy92 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Audio-Devboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
