About the Chaos papagali PCB

Chaos papagali is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Pakequis, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 49.4 × 43.7 mm, with 36 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-M, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TP4056 and FS8205A. By type, the board carries 10 capacitors, 10 resistors, 4 ICs, 3 connectors, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

A annoying device that imitates the vibration of a phone

A slightly over-engineered, annoying device that imitates the vibration of a phone.

This project is an update of the classic electronic cricket circuit that we saw in old electronics magazines. It's a prank device aimed at annoying someone (especially my daughters and my wife). Today, there are devices like the OpenKobold and the Annoyng PCB that play random sounds, but none imitate the vibration of a phone. So, I created one that does.

Chaos papagali: common questions

What microcontroller does the Chaos papagali use?

The Chaos papagali is built around the ATmega328P-M, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Chaos papagali PCB?

The Chaos papagali measures 49.4 × 43.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Chaos papagali?

36 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Chaos papagali design files?

From the Pakequis/Chaos_papagali repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Chaos papagali design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Pakequis chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Chaos papagali without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
