About the BLARE-Clock PCB
BLARE-Clock is an open source ESP32 PCB design by paper14g, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 96 × 48 mm, with 7 components from 4 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 4 switches, 1 IC, 1 connector and 1 buzzer.
It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
I try to learn about making stuff with KiCad
This is my schematic, which shows an idea of how the parts are connected
There was some AI usage to assist me with KiCad footprint troubleshooting, OnShape tools, and some of the coding since I am unfamiliar with the coding language.

BLARE-Clock: common questions
What microcontroller does the BLARE-Clock use?
The BLARE-Clock is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the BLARE-Clock PCB?
The BLARE-Clock measures 96 × 48 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the BLARE-Clock?
7 components, from 4 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the BLARE-Clock design files?
From the paper14g/BLARE-Clock repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the BLARE-Clock design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with paper14g. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the BLARE-Clock without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
