About the Haori36 PCB

Haori36 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by penk, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 204.3 × 68 mm, with 75 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040_Zero, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 37 switches, 37 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

36-key monoblock split ortho keyboard

Low-pro 36-key hot-swappable monoblock split ortho keyboard with optional Pimoroni trackball support.

- Use the gerber files in the production/ folder. - Optionally one can utilize the BOM and CPL files with a PCBA service to avoid manually soldering SMD diodes, which can be challenging to solder by hand. All components are soldered to the bottom side of the board.

Haori36: common questions

What microcontroller does the Haori36 use?

The Haori36 is built around the RP2040_Zero, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Haori36 PCB?

The Haori36 measures 204.3 × 68 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Haori36?

75 components, from 4 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Haori36 design files?

From the penk/Haori36 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Haori36 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which penk chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Haori36 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
