This clock uses wooden gears and a simple electromagnetically driven pendulum with the goal of keeping accurate time.
It uses an an electromagnet and permanent magnet to provide pulses of energy to the pendulum to keep it moving, an angle sensor to detect the position of the pendulum, and a magnetic spring to to speed up, or slow down, the pendulum.

Arduino theClock3: common questions
What microcontroller does the Arduino theClock3 use?
The Arduino theClock3 is built around the ESP32_DEV_0, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Arduino theClock3 PCB?
The Arduino theClock3 measures 48.3 × 96.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Arduino theClock3?
28 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Arduino theClock3 design files?
From the phorton1/Arduino-theClock3 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Arduino theClock3 design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which phorton1 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Arduino theClock3 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
