About the Piplhackpad PCB

Piplhackpad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by piplup7575, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 90 × 107 mm, with 33 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 16 switches, 16 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

this macropad was made for hackpad (a program by hackclub) back in febuary 2025! I have still yet to assemble it, but I found these files and wanted to reupload them somewhere. I'll post images as soon as I finish it!

Piplhackpad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Piplhackpad use?

The Piplhackpad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Piplhackpad PCB?

The Piplhackpad measures 90 × 107 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Piplhackpad?

33 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Piplhackpad design files?

From the piplup7575/piplhackpad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Piplhackpad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with piplup7575. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Piplhackpad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
