About the USB-to-RS232-INTERFACE PCB

USB-to-RS232-INTERFACE is an open source PCB design by pitiee-9, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56 × 40 mm, with 13 components from 8 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MAX232 and CH341T. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 2 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 connector.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

A kicad small PCB project, consists of gerber files of the pcb board structure of USB-RS232

A KiCad hardware design for connecting a computer's USB port to a standard RS-232 serial device.

- CH341T (U2) for USB-to-UART conversion - MAX232 (U1) for UART-to-RS-232 level conversion - A USB Type-A receptacle (J2) for the host connection - A DE-9/DB9 socket (J1) for the RS-232 connection - A 12 MHz SMD crystal (X1) for the CH341T clock

The MAX232 charge-pump capacitors are routed to the converter's C1+, C1-, C2+, C2-, V+, and V- pins. The board also routes USB VBUS and ground between the USB interface and the serial circuitry.
