About the Mechanical-Keyboard PCB

Mechanical-Keyboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by pkd2210, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 350.5 × 129 mm, with 171 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 85 switches, 85 diodes and 1 module.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

My mechanical keyboard pcb submission to blueprint.hackclub.com

A 75$ 80$ keyboard, built using raspberry pi Pico. The keyboard is a matrix of switches, I built it to learn how to use matrixes and build keyboards (as my previous attempt was a failier)

The keyboard i quite simple, with no cover or specific keycaps, beacuse i planed it to be customizwable with any case you want online, and any keycaps you want online.

Personaly i'm gonna try to make a case out of wood, and order wood themed keycaps. # Update Updated the pcb layout to use a diffrent tkl layout, now with kleplacer and not manually (As Requested by my stasis reviewer) new image: Remade the…

Mechanical-Keyboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mechanical-Keyboard use?

The Mechanical-Keyboard is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Mechanical-Keyboard PCB?

The Mechanical-Keyboard measures 350.5 × 129 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mechanical-Keyboard?

171 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mechanical-Keyboard design files?

From the pkd2210/Mechanical-Keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mechanical-Keyboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with pkd2210. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mechanical-Keyboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
