About the PIU LED DRIVER SMALL PCB
PIU LED DRIVER SMALL is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by pogof, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 80 × 64 mm, with 52 components from 29 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the KIA7039 and SP232EEN. By type, the board carries 15 capacitors, 9 resistors, 7 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes and 1 crystal.
From the project
Schematics and reference PCB design for PIU LX EQ and LED DRIVER Boards
Before you continue reading: Both boards are relatively simple, both based on AtMega238p and both running the same code. Both original board types have the chip unlocked, meaning that with some programmer or even just Arduino running the Example programmer sketch you can read the code and flash it to another.
If you have a board that died you can first try to revive it by flashing code downloaded from a working board. If that doesn't work, try checking for component failure (caps shorted, ...), replace the AtMega238p and flash again.
