If you have any questions, please reach out to Matthew Allen on Slack.

The C++ code is stored in STAG/flightcontrollerv3.

This was developed using PlatformIO, but can be used with Arduino IDE as well.

The current software is complete and will be used on the STAG mission.

Hardware-in-the-loop is possible with this code setup, and can be enabled by commenting out the flag in config.h

Polaris4.1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Polaris4.1 use?

The Polaris4.1 is built around the Arduino_Nano_ESP32, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Polaris4.1 PCB?

The Polaris4.1 measures 95 × 99 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Polaris4.1?

90 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Polaris4.1 design files?

From the porbital/GNC_Hapsis repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Polaris4.1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with porbital. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Polaris4.1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
