About the Antenna top cap v2c PCB

Antenna top cap v2c is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by proveskit, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 25 components from 16 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Blue, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the VEML6031X00, TMP112xxDRL and TCA4311ADGKR. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 6 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 capacitors, 1 transistor and 1 diode.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery, and the repository also holds 4 earlier revisions of it.

From the project

The PROVES Kit Antenna Boards! By convention the Z+ Top Cap of the satellite.

This repo contains the KiCAD files for the PROVES Kit Antenna Board. This board currently goes on the +Z endcap of the satellite and hosts the antennas, interfacing ports, and some other support circuitry!

Antenna top cap v2c: common questions

What microcontroller does the Antenna top cap v2c use?

The Antenna top cap v2c is built around the Blue, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Antenna top cap v2c PCB?

The Antenna top cap v2c measures 100 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6062 mm thick.

How many components are on the Antenna top cap v2c?

25 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Antenna top cap v2c design files?

From the proveskit/antenna-board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Antenna top cap v2c design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which proveskit chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Antenna top cap v2c without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
