About the Debug board v1

Debug board v1 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by proveskit, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55.5 × 53.5 mm, with 21 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the KMR2, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the BQ25886RGE and DZDH0401DW-7. By type, the board carries 5 connectors, 5 capacitors, 3 switches, 2 ICs, 2 test points and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the rf & radio and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

The PROVES Kit Antenna Boards! By convention the Z+ Top Cap of the satellite.

This repo contains the KiCAD files for the PROVES Kit Antenna Board. This board currently goes on the +Z endcap of the satellite and hosts the antennas, interfacing ports, and some other support circuitry!

Debug board v1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Debug board v1 use?

The Debug board v1 is built around the KMR2, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Debug board v1?

The Debug board v1 measures 55.5 × 53.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Debug board v1?

21 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Debug board v1 design files?

From the proveskit/antenna-board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Debug board v1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which proveskit chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Debug board v1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
