About the PUTM EV APPS 2021 PCB

PUTM EV APPS 2021 is an open source STM32 PCB design by PUT-Motorsport, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100.7 × 63.5 mm, with 72 components from 32 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM2596S-5, LM1117-3.3, MCP2562-H-SN and MCP6001-OT. By type, the board carries 20 capacitors, 17 resistors, 14 diodes, 8 ICs, 6 connectors and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

FS APPS project

APPS handling is required by official FSG Rules according to T11.8 (see). APPS signals are system critical signals meaning that any implausibility between sensors or a failure should result in complete motor power shutdown.

0% - fully released 100% - fully applied

Implausibility is defined as a deviation of more than ten percentage points pedal travel between any of the used APPSs. If it occurs for more than 100 ms the power to the motor must be immediately shut down.

PUTM EV APPS 2021: common questions

What microcontroller does the PUTM EV APPS 2021 use?

The PUTM EV APPS 2021 is built around the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the PUTM EV APPS 2021 PCB?

The PUTM EV APPS 2021 measures 100.7 × 63.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PUTM EV APPS 2021?

72 components, from 32 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PUTM EV APPS 2021 design files?

From the PUT-Motorsport/PUTM_EV_APPS_2021 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PUTM EV APPS 2021 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which PUT-Motorsport chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the PUTM EV APPS 2021 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
