About the J2o Board

J2o Board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by qbancoffee, published on GitHub under the LGPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 82.6 × 52.5 mm, with 16 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LCC110. By type, the board carries 4 connectors, 4 resistors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

These are the KiCAD project files for this project.

-imacg3333mhzslotloadingJ20adapter_board This board is the "brains" of the operation, it sends the init sequence to the IVAD board and also sends EDID information to any device that requests it when conencted to the VGA port.

-imacg3downconverterboard_adapter This board takes 24VAC from the analog board via the the J22 board and converts it to standard computer power supply voltages. +12VDC, +5VDC and +3.3VDC. This board also has a footprint to include a connector to connect a CPU fan.

J2o Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the J2o Board use?

The J2o Board is built around the ATmega328-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the J2o Board?

The J2o Board measures 82.6 × 52.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the J2o Board?

16 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the J2o Board design files?

From the qbancoffee/imac_g3_ivad_board_init repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the J2o Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its LGPL-3.0 license, which qbancoffee chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the J2o Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
