About the Controller board

Controller board is an open source PCB design by raffcorreia, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55 × 40 mm, with 35 components from 20 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TLV9064IDR, ADS1015IDGSR, 74LVC1G17GW, MC74HC4066ADR2G and 74LVC1G66LT05ARCQ. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 11 capacitors, 6 ICs and 3 connectors.

From the project

REST API and local touch UI for invasive control of Samsung CJ791 monitors by electrically emulating the front-panel JOG button. Uses an inline hardware mod on the JOG harness and DDC/CI for feedback, status, and supported monitor functions like input detection and power control.

samsung-jog-api is a hardware-and-software project to make a Samsung CJ791 monitor locally programmable by electrically emulating its front-panel JOG control, exposing that behavior through a local REST API, and hosting a touch-first local control interface on a Raspberry Pi-based control deck.

This repository is organized around the Samsung LC34J791WTNXZA / CJ791 hardware in my setup. Related Samsung monitors with a similar multi-jog front-panel board may be adaptable, but the measurements and assumptions here are specific to this unit unless noted otherwise.

Controller board: common questions

How big is the Controller board?

The Controller board measures 55 × 40 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Controller board?

35 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Controller board design files?

From the raffcorreia/samsung-jog-api repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Controller board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which raffcorreia chose for the repository.
