About the Saptest1 PCB
Saptest1 is an open source STM32 PCB design by RileyLeff, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 33.4 × 26.8 mm, with 8 components from 8 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the C2071924, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the C179326 and C2847904. By type, the board carries 4 ICs, 2 diodes, 1 connector and 1 fuse.
It belongs with the sensors and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
An open hardware logic board for experimental heat-pulse sap flux sensors.
An open hardware logic board for experimental heat-pulse sap flux sensors.
Sap flux sensors estimate how water moves through trees by watching heat move through sapwood. That sounds simple until the signal leaves the tree. Probe spacing, thermal properties, calibration choices, firmware decisions, and downstream models all shape what a sap flux estimate can mean. My dissertation work starts from that leak in the measurement pipeline.

Saptest1: common questions
What microcontroller does the Saptest1 use?
The Saptest1 is built around the C2071924, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Saptest1 PCB?
The Saptest1 measures 33.4 × 26.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Saptest1?
8 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Saptest1 design files?
From the RileyLeff/sapflux_sensor repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Saptest1 design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with RileyLeff. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Saptest1 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
