About the Keyboard PCB

Keyboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by rosikur, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 388.6 × 139.7 mm, with 166 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 85 switches, 80 diodes and 1 module.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

I dont know what to call it so lets call it "keeb" because thats the name of the guide

This was my first keyboard , apart from my macropad ,the keyboard took 3 times , more on that on my Journal

In the meantime while it ships you start printing the Case,if your Printer is too small , half it or you can order it off print legion

Once everything is ready , you grab some solder and an iron , i recommend leaded solder makes it easier, firstly take your pi pico and add the male pins, then put it trough and solder everything and snap off its legs outside

Keyboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Keyboard use?

The Keyboard is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Keyboard PCB?

The Keyboard measures 388.6 × 139.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Keyboard?

166 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Keyboard design files?

From the rosikur/keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Keyboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rosikur. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Keyboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
