These scripts turn the two netlists in design/ into finished KiCad 9 boards and JLCPCB files, without anyone drawing the layout by hand. For each board they:

1. build the outline, mounting holes, slots and keep-outs, and place every part: the connectors, ICs and power parts at fixed coordinates, the small parts next to the pins they serve; 2. draw the copper that decides whether the board works before anything is routed: both switch nodes and bootstrap links (L1 only, no vias), the fused 48 V input and the +48V trunk to the buck, Q1's source to its shunt, the ch2 shunt ladder's bus bars, the…

Board a: common questions

What microcontroller does the Board a use?

The Board a is built around the STM32G431CBU6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Board a?

The Board a measures 90 × 60 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Board a?

173 components, from 59 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Board a design files?

From the ruckusmattster/xtm-led-driver repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Board a design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which ruckusmattster chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Board a without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
