About the SMDUv3 PCB

SMDUv3 is an open source STM32 PCB design by sabanekko3, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 57 × 25.9 mm, with 66 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G431CBUX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the SN65HVD230, 9V_LR, L78L33_SOT89 and C3655801. By type, the board carries 25 resistors, 16 capacitors, 6 ICs, 6 transistors, 5 connectors and 3 diodes.

SMDUv3: common questions

What microcontroller does the SMDUv3 use?

The SMDUv3 is built around the STM32G431CBUX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the SMDUv3 PCB?

The SMDUv3 measures 57 × 25.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SMDUv3?

66 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SMDUv3 design files?

From the sabanekko3/sMDUv3 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SMDUv3 design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the SMDUv3 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
