Sierra Lobo's 1.5U CubeSat Backplane

SLI Open Source Cubesat Backplane 12/10/21

Fits inside a 1.5U Cubesat Chassis. It fits 8 PC104 Cards with SLI's PC104 Adapter Card. This will mount directly to SLI's Cubesat Chassis.

Made in KiCad Version 5.1.10 Editing with KiCad requires the built in libraries for the passives. All other parts are included in the project library.

Backplane: common questions

How big is the Backplane PCB?

The Backplane measures 78 × 138 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Backplane?

58 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Backplane design files?

From the Sierra-Lobo/backplane repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Backplane design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which Sierra-Lobo chose for the repository.
