From the project

A near field multi beam ultra wideband fmcw radar detector using a novel near field focussed rotman lens

1. Buttler matrix vs rotman lens -> rotman lense (potentially more array ports within reasonable space) 2. Vivaldi vs Horn Array-> Vivaldi array -> can be implemented in single PCB 3. 2 elliptical dishes vs combined rxtx vs TX dish + 8 fixed RX horns 4. Inductitity values for RX/TX inline buffers 5. 10uF caps 0805 -> price

The KiCad project lives in the siru409/Dilf-seeker repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

MIMO SAR RADAR: common questions

What microcontroller does the MIMO SAR RADAR use?

The MIMO SAR RADAR is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the MIMO SAR RADAR PCB?

The MIMO SAR RADAR measures 125.6 × 75 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 0.4 mm thick.

How many components are on the MIMO SAR RADAR?

273 components, from 71 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MIMO SAR RADAR design files?

From the siru409/Dilf-seeker repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MIMO SAR RADAR design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with siru409. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MIMO SAR RADAR without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
