About the CircuitXR PCB

CircuitXR is an open source ESP32 PCB design by smonzon14, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DEVKITC-32D, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 1 IC, 1 diode and 1 resistor.

From the project

A vision-language chat demo that runs entirely on this machine — no API keys, no network calls at inference time.

The originally requested model cannot run on this hardware. This is not a tuning problem; it is off by more than an order of magnitude:

NVFP4 is a 4-bit format whose kernels require NVIDIA Blackwell tensor cores (B200, RTX 50-series). There is no macOS execution path for it.

CircuitXR: common questions

What microcontroller does the CircuitXR use?

The CircuitXR is built around the ESP32-DEVKITC-32D, from the ESP32 family.

How many components are on the CircuitXR?

3 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CircuitXR design files?

From the smonzon14/CircuitXR repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CircuitXR design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with smonzon14. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the CircuitXR without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
