From the project

PCB for experimenting with a STM32

Have a box for experiments and easy testing with a CPU which is more powerful than an AVR (Arduino) and uses less energy than a Raspberry Pi. Then add some common peripherals and fit this into a case.

The following hardware has been added. Not everything is required to be populated on the PCB.

- STM32L452RET (80MHz, 160KiB RAM) tested

- Can run from a LiFePO battery and charge it

UniversalboxArm: common questions

What microcontroller does the UniversalboxArm use?

The UniversalboxArm is built around the STM32L452RETx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the UniversalboxArm PCB?

The UniversalboxArm measures 112 × 57 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the UniversalboxArm?

153 components, from 66 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the UniversalboxArm design files?

From the Solartraveler/UniversalboxArm repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the UniversalboxArm design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Solartraveler. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the UniversalboxArm without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
