From the project

Open Hardware project to create VR/AR platform

The first prototype with the custom PCB design to fuse the SOM and modules together. Basically it contains a number of buttons, leds, dual USB-C interface and a way to put SOM in place and connect the displays.

1. Open Source and Open Hardware platform for light-weight wearable stereo displays as close as currently possible to the regular glasses 2. No AR-grade positioning detection - just good quality high resolution see-through displays (1920x1080) 3. Wireless (WiFi ac, h264/h265, battery power) and direct drive (USB-C DP alt-mode)

Binocular: common questions

How big is the Binocular PCB?

The Binocular measures 114.6 × 94.2 mm, has 8 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Binocular?

792 components, from 53 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Binocular design files?

From the state-of-the-art/binocular repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Binocular design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with state-of-the-art. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
