About the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio PCB

Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by SyedIhteshamuddin, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 46.5 × 65 mm, with 16 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 3 capacitors, 2 resistors, 1 IC, 1 transistor and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Embedded systems, PCB design, and electronics projects documenting my journey toward Electrical Engineering.

This project documents the complete design of a custom two-layer printed circuit board (PCB) for an ATmega328P-based assistive navigation hardware platform.

The primary objective was to gain practical experience with the complete PCB design workflow rather than relying on development boards such as the Arduino Uno. The design process included schematic capture, footprint assignment, PCB layout, routing, electrical verification, design rule checking (DRC), and fabrication file generation using KiCad.

Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio: common questions

What microcontroller does the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio use?

The Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio is built around the ATMEGA328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio PCB?

The Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio measures 46.5 × 65 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio?

16 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio design files?

From the SyedIhteshamuddin/Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with SyedIhteshamuddin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Electrical-Engineering-Portfolio without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
