About the Gameport PCB

Gameport is an open source PCB design by tebl, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-1.2 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 58.4 × 43.8 mm, with 22 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 4066. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 4 modules, 3 connectors, 2 transistors, 1 IC and 1 jumper.

It belongs with the retro computing, keyboards and test & measurement designs in this gallery.

From the project

WASD-style joystick for vintage computers. With an added Arduino Pro Micro you can use it as a USB-keyboard, so if you wanted a DIY streamdeck or Macro-keyboard - then the C64 JoyKEY can do that as well.

While the IBM PC has seen its fair share of joysticks over time, they were primarily analog though the digital variety have also been regularly seen since the early 1980s as well. The rise of competing gaming consoles soon started to popularize the gamepads over the analog controllers and soon, even the PC saw their share of excellent controllers such as the Gravis Gamepad. While they won't replace the feel and response of an analog flightstick for those type of games, I feel that there are enough variety that the digital controllers also should have their place on the system - for that…
