A scalable, open source battery management system

THIS PROJECT IS DEAD. The avalibility of other projects and low cost off the shelf solutions has imporved significantly to where this project is no londer needed.

A much more mature open source bms that I recommend is https://github.com/EnnoidMe/ENNOID-BMS that has all the features that I had wanted to implement. Off the shelf hardware is available for that too if you don't want to build your own.

OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328: common questions

What microcontroller does the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 use?

The OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 is built around the ATMEGA328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 PCB?

The OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 measures 49.5 × 49.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328?

31 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 design files?

From the Teslafly/Dead-OpenBMS-dead repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Teslafly. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the OSBMS MicroMaster atmega328 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
