A scalable, open source battery management system
THIS PROJECT IS DEAD. The avalibility of other projects and low cost off the shelf solutions has imporved significantly to where this project is no londer needed.
A much more mature open source bms that I recommend is https://github.com/EnnoidMe/ENNOID-BMS that has all the features that I had wanted to implement. Off the shelf hardware is available for that too if you don't want to build your own.

Open source BMS: common questions
How big is the Open source BMS PCB?
The Open source BMS measures 49 × 49 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Open source BMS?
52 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Open source BMS design files?
From the Teslafly/Dead-OpenBMS-dead repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Open source BMS design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Teslafly. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
