About the Bifrost PCB

Bifrost is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Tetrush, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a board, with 7 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 2 connectors, 2 capacitors, 1 IC, 1 switch and 1 resistor.

From the project

Dual-Port Ethernet Bridge Interface for Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040).

Project Bifrost is a high-performance network interface bridge designed for the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040). It provides dual-port Ethernet connectivity using W5500 modules, optimized for signal integrity and stability in demanding network applications.

1. Power Supply: Ensure a stable 3.3V power source. 2. Signal Damping: Place 100Ω resistors in series on the SCK lines, positioned as close as possible to the RP2040. 3. Decoupling: Use a 0.1μF decoupling capacitor between VCC and GND for each W5500 module. Position these capacitors as physically close as possible to the power pins of the…

Bifrost: common questions

What microcontroller does the Bifrost use?

The Bifrost is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How many components are on the Bifrost?

7 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Bifrost design files?

From the Tetrush/Bifrost repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Bifrost design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which Tetrush chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Bifrost without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
