About the KM271-WiFi-ETHext PCB
KM271-WiFi-ETHext is an open source PCB design by the78mole, published on GitHub under the TAPR-OHL-1.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 59.5 × 34.3 mm, with 67 components from 34 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the AP1117-33 and W5500. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 23 resistors, 3 connectors, 3 jumpers, 2 ICs and 2 diodes.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
A piece of hardware to be installed in a Buderus Logamatic 2107 to provide control and status over WiFi
To achieve wired connectivity with the KM271-WiFi (e.g. in concrete basements without any WiFi), we decided to develop an Ethernet-Extension module, that is attached on the EXT (J7) connector via SPI interface.
For KM271-WiFi 0.1.0, you need to add a tiny fix-bridge to make it working.
Alternatively, when not experienced with soldering, you can add a wire to the ESP and the connector foot, but you need to use an insulated one:
