From the project

A piece of hardware to be installed in a Buderus Logamatic 2107 to provide control and status over WiFi

If you just received a module, you can find help with installation here:

- Getting Started Guide - Erste Schritte

This piece of hardware is a direct replacement for the Buderus KM271 to control a buderus heating system with Logamatic 2107 controller board. Maybe other controllers are supported. Please file an issue (or better a PR) if you have my module running in other Buderus heating controllers, so I can add them here.

Buderus-KM217-WIFI: common questions

What microcontroller does the Buderus-KM217-WIFI use?

The Buderus-KM217-WIFI is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32D-N8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Buderus-KM217-WIFI PCB?

The Buderus-KM217-WIFI measures 100.8 × 40 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Buderus-KM217-WIFI?

115 components, from 41 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Buderus-KM217-WIFI design files?

From the the78mole/km271-wifi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Buderus-KM217-WIFI design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its TAPR-OHL-1.0 license, which the78mole chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Buderus-KM217-WIFI without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
