About the Clementine clock PCB

Clementine clock is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by themagicfrog, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 84.6 × 42.3 mm, with 13 components from 13 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MIC5219-3.3YM5. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 3 switches, 2 resistors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

a PCB & 3D-printed clementine-themed clock for alarms & timers

this is an orange/mandarin-themed clock to set timers & alarms for my room. I decided to make a clock because I usually don't have access to my phone when I go to sleep at school, and I needed an easy way to know the time and to wake up at the right time. I chose a clementine theme because I like oranges.

on the main PCB board, there is a 4-digit 7-segment LCD display (showing the time), a small button, and a speaker. there is also wires on the main PCB board connecting a rotary encoder (adjusting the time) on the top of the orange, a 3 AA battery case, and a big button (snooze & stop) at…

Clementine clock: common questions

What microcontroller does the Clementine clock use?

The Clementine clock is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Clementine clock PCB?

The Clementine clock measures 84.6 × 42.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Clementine clock?

13 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Clementine clock design files?

From the themagicfrog/clementine-clock repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Clementine clock design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with themagicfrog. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Clementine clock without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
