About the Pi pico drone PCB
Pi pico drone is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by TheNoobInventor, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 47.6 × 69.1 mm, with 31 components from 13 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 5 diodes, 4 transistors, 3 connectors, 3 LEDs and 1 IC.
It belongs with the sensors, robotics & motion and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
A micro drone is made using the Raspberry Pi Pico W. It is fitted with the MPU6050 IMU module and BMP280 barometric sensor. The drone will be controlled using TinyMPC and employ a Micro-ROS client on FreeRTOS.

Pi pico drone: common questions
What microcontroller does the Pi pico drone use?
The Pi pico drone is built around the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Pi pico drone PCB?
The Pi pico drone measures 47.6 × 69.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Pi pico drone?
31 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Pi pico drone design files?
From the TheNoobInventor/pi-pico-drone repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Pi pico drone design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which TheNoobInventor chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Pi pico drone without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
