About the Hue simple switch PCB
Hue simple switch is an open source ESP32 PCB design by tineira, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 42 × 52 mm, with 28 components from 12 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 (113991254), from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 8 capacitors, 3 connectors, 1 IC, 1 fuse and 1 diode.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
Wi-Fi wall switch for Philips Hue on a Seeed XIAO ESP32-C6, wired to a toggle switch or push buttons. Controls the Hue Bridge over its local API (not Zigbee).
A small board that puts the XIAO ESP32-C6 and its own power supply inside a wall electrical box, powered from the mains, reading the existing wall switches or buttons on D0 to D5. Firmware, pin map and console contract are unchanged: this is the same hue-simple-switch, with a different way to power and wire it.
The XIAO has no 3D model in these renders. It sits flat on the top side, USB-C at the left edge.

Hue simple switch: common questions
What microcontroller does the Hue simple switch use?
The Hue simple switch is built around the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 (113991254), from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Hue simple switch PCB?
The Hue simple switch measures 42 × 52 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Hue simple switch?
28 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Hue simple switch design files?
From the tineira/hue-simple-switch repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Hue simple switch design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which tineira chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Hue simple switch without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
