About the Esp32c5-airunit nano PCB

Esp32c5-airunit nano is an open source ESP32 PCB design by us3r-d0e5nt-3x1st, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 19.1 × 21.8 mm, with 24 components from 13 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C5-WROOM-1U-N8R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MT3406. By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 7 capacitors, 4 resistors, 2 ICs, 1 switch and 1 diode.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

air-unit based on esp32c5-wroom-1u and ov5640, made for the hx-esp32-cam-fpv project, supports both digital video with osd and rc control

i think it's ready and it should work in the current state, but i still need to check if everything works in practice and write some kind of documentation for it. when you're downloading the files, please use either the main branch > code > download zip, or the project, photos and gerber zip files in the newest release, and not anything in the tags or the source code in the release, because they are older (broken) versions of the project

Esp32c5-airunit nano: common questions

What microcontroller does the Esp32c5-airunit nano use?

The Esp32c5-airunit nano is built around the ESP32-C5-WROOM-1U-N8R8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Esp32c5-airunit nano PCB?

The Esp32c5-airunit nano measures 19.1 × 21.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Esp32c5-airunit nano?

24 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Esp32c5-airunit nano design files?

From the us3r-d0e5nt-3x1st/esp32c5-airunit-nano repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Esp32c5-airunit nano design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with us3r-d0e5nt-3x1st. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Esp32c5-airunit nano without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
