About the Transmitter PCB

Transmitter is an open source ESP32 PCB design by VectorSpaceHQ, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 44.5 mm, with 23 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO-ESP32C3, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 3 LEDs, 2 battery holders and 1 IC.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

A combat robot RC system using the ESP32.

This is an open source, low cost, DIY combat robot kit. It is designed for use with antweight (1lb) and beetleweight (3lb) combat robots.

This repository includes PCB designs for the transmitter and receiver, the associated software, as well as a simple 3d printable chassis and controller design.

Transmitter: common questions

What microcontroller does the Transmitter use?

The Transmitter is built around the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO-ESP32C3, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Transmitter PCB?

The Transmitter measures 99.1 × 44.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Transmitter?

23 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Transmitter design files?

From the VectorSpaceHQ/VS_combat_robot repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Transmitter design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with VectorSpaceHQ. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Transmitter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
