About the DrawMachine PCB
DrawMachine is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by vpalaga, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 97.5 × 67.3 mm, with 36 components from 22 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico_W, from the Raspberry Pi family. By type, the board carries 11 connectors, 10 capacitors, 6 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 module.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
x, y robot steered by FCODE Instructions
The FCODE is my own simplification of .gcode protocol. I maight implememnt the .gcode later for the sake of my own sanity, but for now I am working with my own fuck creation - FCODE.
The Goal: 100% working reliable x, y potter to do my homework.
Payload from Pi to Pico examples (FCODE):
I am using Raspberry Pi Pico VS Code extension to write, compile and upload the code to my Pico.

DrawMachine: common questions
What microcontroller does the DrawMachine use?
The DrawMachine is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico_W, from the Raspberry Pi family.
How big is the DrawMachine PCB?
The DrawMachine measures 97.5 × 67.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the DrawMachine?
36 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the DrawMachine design files?
From the vpalaga/DrawMachine repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the DrawMachine design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with vpalaga. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the DrawMachine without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
