About the BoxTurtleMC PCB
BoxTurtleMC is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by z00mantwo, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 110 × 60 mm, with 31 components from 12 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the CJMCU-1051_TJA1051_CAN_Transceiver. By type, the board carries 8 modules, 8 switches, 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 1 diode and 1 resistor.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

The main focus is combining this project with a BigTreeTech MMB. This will enable full BoxTurtle control of the DC motor powered re-spoolers. It also allows a nice upgrade path from a ERCF to the BoxTurtle. It includes additional switch ports to support the "BoxTurtle Lane Controls" mod and additional power connections to support Project TurtleScreen. This board will also have the option of controlling up to 8 re-spooler motors so it should be useful in larger custom BoxTurtle setups with more than 4 lanes.

BoxTurtleMC: common questions
What microcontroller does the BoxTurtleMC use?
The BoxTurtleMC is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the BoxTurtleMC PCB?
The BoxTurtleMC measures 110 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the BoxTurtleMC?
31 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the BoxTurtleMC design files?
From the z00mantwo/BoxTurtleMC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the BoxTurtleMC design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which z00mantwo chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the BoxTurtleMC without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
