About the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW PCB

ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ZuluSCSI, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 90 × 100 mm, with 118 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico W, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the 74LVTH125MTC, 74LVT245BBT20-13 and LM3674MFX-ADJ/NOPB. By type, the board carries 47 resistors, 24 capacitors, 21 inductors, 9 ICs, 7 connectors and 6 diodes.

ZuluSCSI™ Pico Community Edition - Open Source Hardware ========================

This repository contains the KiCAD 7 schematic and PCB design files for the Pico-based ZuluSCSI™ SCSI to SD storage emulator, which is derived from the ZuluSCSI RP2040 board design. Firmware for ZuluSCSI is available at http://github.com/ZuluSCSI/ZuluSCSI-firmware.

This hardware design is licensed under the terms of the strongly reciprocal CERN OHL-S V2 license, which can be viewed in full at https://ohwr.org/cernohlsv2.txt and https://ohwr.org/cernohlsv2.pdf.

ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW: common questions

What microcontroller does the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW use?

The ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW is built around the Pico W, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW PCB?

The ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW measures 90 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW?

118 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW design files?

From the ZuluSCSI/ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which ZuluSCSI chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ZuluSCSI-Pico-OSHW without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
