About the Asa PCB

Asa is an open source PCB design by 0x007E, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54.1 × 30.5 mm, with 29 components from 23 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LM386. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 7 resistors, 3 diodes, 2 connectors, 1 IC and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Audio Signal Amplifier

The ASA is a board with an LM386 or any other audio signal amplifier. The board itself can be driven with a voltage between 5-12V. It adds and amplifies the given input signal(s) with a gain between ~50-200 to a connected speaker. If the supply of the board is available the green led is on. The board itself provides a reverse polarity protection.

The pcb is created with KiCAD. All files are built with github actions so that they are ready for a production environment.

Asa: common questions

How big is the Asa PCB?

The Asa measures 54.1 × 30.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Asa?

29 components, from 23 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Asa design files?

From the 0x007E/asa repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Asa design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
