About the Mgc esp32 PCB

Mgc esp32 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by 0x007E, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 33 × 48.9 mm, with 32 components from 16 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32UE-R2, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the 74AHC1G02 and MCP23018x-x-SS. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 10 capacitors, 6 connectors, 3 ICs and 1 switch.

MeGARCard - ESP32 Module

The ESP32 (mgcmodule) is an adaptable board for the MeGARCard. The board offers the possibility to control the MeGARCard with an ESP32. The board itself is connected to the MeGARCard within the pcb-to-pcb connectors (no soldering necessary). With the onboard dip-switches the boot setup and the port expander twi address can be modified. The board itself operates with 3V3 deliverd from the MeGARCard`.

Mgc esp32: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mgc esp32 use?

The Mgc esp32 is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32UE-R2, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Mgc esp32 PCB?

The Mgc esp32 measures 33 × 48.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mgc esp32?

32 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mgc esp32 design files?

From the 0x007E/mgc_esp32 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mgc esp32 design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Mgc esp32 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
