About the FM radio atmega 8 PCB

FM radio atmega 8 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by 411568, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 77.5 × 52.1 mm, with 19 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega8A-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LM317_3PinPackage, TEA5767 and PAM8302_module. By type, the board carries 5 connectors, 5 capacitors, 5 resistors and 4 ICs.

It belongs with the rf & radio and audio designs in this gallery.

Simple FM radio based on Atmega8 and TEA5767 module

This project is a revision of one of my old designs, created a long long time ago when atmel atmega chips where still dirty cheap.

It contains two seperate boards: - mainradioboard - this one contains an Atmega8 microcontroller, TEA5767 FM radio module, PAM8302 amplifier module and power connector. - displayandcontrols_board - this one is specificly designed to fit in an old Unitra radio case, it has LEDs used as radio frequency indicators, rotary encoder for changing the frequency, potentiometer for volume and some additional buttons.

FM radio atmega 8: common questions

What microcontroller does the FM radio atmega 8 use?

The FM radio atmega 8 is built around the ATmega8A-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the FM radio atmega 8 PCB?

The FM radio atmega 8 measures 77.5 × 52.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the FM radio atmega 8?

19 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FM radio atmega 8 design files?

From the 411568/Atmega8_FM_radio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FM radio atmega 8 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which 411568 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FM radio atmega 8 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
