About the JohbGCC PCB

JohbGCC is an open source PCB design by 8n1, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 125.5 × 75.1 mm, with 29 components from 10 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 14 capacitors, 9 resistors, 3 transistors, 2 diodes and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Hardware files for a custom Gamecube controller that uses Hall effect magnetic sensors to read the sticks. Based on PhobGCC.

This board is based on the PhobGCC v1.2.3 board (https://github.com/PhobGCC/PhobGCC-HW).

It is 100% compatible with the PhobGCC software but requires a custom teensy.h. (More info below).

The Board was made with KiCad version 6.0.5. Gerber and assembly production files were created using the KiCad plugin "JLCPCB Tools" (https://github.com/Bouni/kicad-jlcpcb-tools).

JohbGCC: common questions

How big is the JohbGCC PCB?

The JohbGCC measures 125.5 × 75.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the JohbGCC?

29 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the JohbGCC design files?

From the 8n1/JohbGCC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the JohbGCC design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which 8n1 chose for the repository.
