About the Surfboard PCB
Surfboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by aarush4code, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 22.3 × 52.2 mm, with 36 components from 17 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MCP1700x-330xxTT and W25Q16JVSS. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes and 1 crystal.
It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
A dev board
This is a devboard made with rp2040. It has 40 pins and 3 LEDs.
While making the devboard, or surfboard, I learned more about creating things in the kicad shematic, and how to route wires when their is a tight space. I also learned how to add labels to wire components together in the schematic.

Surfboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the Surfboard use?
The Surfboard is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Surfboard PCB?
The Surfboard measures 22.3 × 52.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Surfboard?
36 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Surfboard design files?
From the aarush4code/surfboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Surfboard design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which aarush4code chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Surfboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
