This project is a ground-up recreation of the Arduino Nano form factor using the ATmega328P microcontroller. Rather than using a pre-made module, the entire hardware stack was designed from scratch: oscillator circuit, decoupling strategy, USB-to-serial bridge for bootloader programming, voltage regulation, and pin breakout — all laid out in a compact 2-layer PCB.

ATmega328p microcontroller board: common questions

What microcontroller does the ATmega328p microcontroller board use?

The ATmega328p microcontroller board is built around the ATmega328-P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the ATmega328p microcontroller board?

The ATmega328p microcontroller board measures 50.7 × 21.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ATmega328p microcontroller board?

26 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ATmega328p microcontroller board design files?

From the Abhi90808/ATmega328p_microcontroller_board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ATmega328p microcontroller board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Abhi90808. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ATmega328p microcontroller board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
